Ferrite Content Checks

This test allows checks to be made, on-site or in-house, of the ferrite content of corrosion and acid resistant steels used in aggressive environments. Applications are numerous and include austenitic stainless steel welds, clad materials and base duplex steel. Again data is PC generated giving the operator instant results as to the levels of delta ferrite. Other ferritic phases and transformed martensite are also recognised.

Magnetic Permeability Testing

To complement the above is Magnetic Permeability Testing. This simple test measures the residual magnetism in a metallic material. The equipment undertakes an accurate assessment of the material’s relative magnetism. This service is offered using a low Mu balanced bridge instrument measuring magnetic permeability in increments from 1.02µ to 2µ. Typical materials tested include austenitic stainless steels and copper alloys such as aluminium bronze.
