Railtex 2017 is the perfect event to network with the rail supply market. Bringing innovative suppliers together to meet and discuss opportunities and exciting developments within the rail sector.

Michael Emmott, our Divisional Commercial Director for Heat Treatment, will be attending Railtex, NEC Birmingham, on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th May.  Michael has over 40 years’ of experience in his field and would like to meet up with you to discuss how Keighley Laboratories can best support your Metallurgical Heat Treatment, Chemical Analysis and Mechanical Testing requirements.

Keighley Laboratories Limited has provided metallurgical services to the rail sector for many decades, working to quality standards which include UKAS 17025 and BSI 9001.  We have worked on numerous rail industry contracts such as:

  • Induction Hardening of pins and bolts
  • ADI (Austempering of Ductile Iron) of track clamps
  • Harden and Temper of rolling stock components
  • General Nitrocarburising including Salt Bath QPQ of holding-down bolts, associated springs, washers and nuts
  • Commercial weld testing including invigilation, testing and certification.

Keighley Laboratories has an extensive portfolio of Heat Treatment processes together with Testing and Analysis services.  Typical services relevant to the rail industry include weld approval, material overchecks, chemical analysis, non-destructive testing of rolling stock components, failure investigation, Tufftride®, Gaseous Nitrocarburising, Carburising, Nitriding and Salt Spray (corrosion testing) for tracks and undercarriages.
