This week is National Apprenticeship Week, and at Keighley Laboratories, we recognise and continue to support the vital role apprentices play in both our business and the wider manufacturing and scientific industries.
Over the years, we’ve worked closely with Keighley College and taken part in Bradford Manufacturing Weeks, offering apprenticeship opportunities with our company. These roles have focused on developing practical, technical skills, giving individuals the chance to learn in a real working environment while contributing to the day-to-day operation of the business.
Apprenticeships support progression at all stages of a career. One example is Tom, who joined Keighley Laboratories as a graduate chemist, whose role has since developed into a senior leadership position. More recently, Tom completed the Level 7 Executive Leadership Apprenticeship, a work-based programme for senior managers delivered by Leeds University. Alongside his technical background, this has supported his transition into his current role as General Manager.

“Apprenticeships provide a practical route to developing skills and confidence at every level of a business. Whether you’re starting out or progressing into leadership, learning on the job alongside experienced colleagues is invaluable.” — Tom,
General Manager
We’re proud to support apprenticeship pathways that help people build skills, progress their careers and strengthen the future of our industry.
