Here at Keighley Laboratories Limited, we continue to invest in training our young employees in the specialised skills they need to support and grow our business.

Over recent years, we have taken on a number of young people whom we have supported towards the successful completion of their apprenticeships. By learning ‘on the job’ we are able to develop a workforce competent to deliver the specialised skills required for our metallurgical Testing & Analysis and Heat Treatment divisions. Our current apprentices are progressing well and the skills they are developing ensure the continuity of the high level of service we provide.Apprentices

We have also accessed funding from the Leeds City Region LEP Skills Service to help finance training for employees across the business. This funding has supported the development of our teams working in Heat Treatment, Chemical Laboratory, Mechanical Testing, and Marketing departments. Leadership training is supporting progression as an important part of our succession planning.

This commitment to continual professional development contributes to the wide range of
specialist accreditations that Keighley Labs has
achieved including UKAS 17025, Nadcap and BSI 9100 Rev C. The Technical Services department is proud of its many aerospace specific accreditations that allow us to work with major companies such as Airbus, Rolls-Royce, Bombardier and BAE systems.

Managing Director, Debbie Mellor says, “The support that we’ve received from the LEP Skills Service has really helped us to focus and structure our training plans. At a time when we all have to make wise spending choices, funding of up to 50% of training costs is a positive benefit to Keighley Labs.”

We’re investing in training our staff with @LeedsCityRegion #LEPskills.
