Latest Machine Arrives at Keighley Labs
In August we took delivery of an additional machine at Keighley Laboratories – a Colchester Multiturn 2000 CNC lathe.
This machine is set to play a pivotal role in our ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and meeting the ever-evolving demands of our customers.
Designed for precision turning and machining operations in metalworking and manufacturing industries the machine will also offer efficiency and ability to produce complex components with the utmost accuracy.
The machine supports our mechanical testing facility and is used in the production of tight tolerance, high precision tensile test pieces, and other bespoke manufactured components .
The key features of our new machine include:
CNC Control: Equipped with a computerised control system that allows for precise and automated machining operations.
Tool Changer: The Multiturn 2000 has an automatic tool changer, which enables the machine to switch between different cutting tools without manual intervention.
The acquisition of the machine complements our existing machine capabilities; three CNC lathes, Electro Discharge Machine (EDM), manual lathes, milling machines etc. This enhances our test and machining facility, providing benefits to our customers, including:
Efficiency: the three CNC machines allow for streamlined production processes, responsiveness to individual customer requirements, reducing lead times and increasing productivity.
Versatility: The machine's versatility means it can handle a wide variety of materials and part geometries, providing flexibility for diverse customer needs.
